This is a renowned traditional Chinese dao, commonly known as Guan Gong Dao.According to legend, it was forged by the top blacksmith in the land only on a full-moon night. Upon its completion, the wind howled and clouds surged, and 1,780 drops of dragon's blood fell from the sky—hence its name. As the iconic weapon of Guan Yu, this blade boasts a 1,700-year history. It is said to be preserved today on the tower of Shanhaiguan Pass, revered as the treasure guarding the pass.
In terms of design, it features a broad, long and heavy blade, paired with a thick handle suitable for two-handed grip, often adorned with dragon patterns. Combining formidable slashing power with imposing ceremonial grandeur, it was historically used by heavy cavalry in battles and also served as a ceremonial weapon symbolizing a general's status, standing as a classic icon of Chinese weaponry culture.
